Building on David A. Brinkley and Andrew W. Hull's work of the same title, Ford traces the evolution of national intelligence estimating from the days before Pearl Harbor to the Post Cold-War Era. Ford covers such topics as the purpose of national intelligence estimating, national intelligence estimating before, during, and after the Korean War, the present system of national estimating, the National Intelligence Council, and tomorrow's estimative needs.
