The use of irrigation systems presents a variety of benefits. The main impact of this project corresponds to significantly improve the use of furrow or gravity irrigation in the province of Manabi through the use of an automatic control system, which will allow the optimal use of water in irrigation systems. The objective of this research was to implement an automatic water flow control system for furrow irrigation in corn crops. The trial was carried out in the Lodana Campus, belonging to the Technical University of Manabi, located in the Lodana parish of Santa Ana, province of Manabi. The main results were as follows. The implementation of the automated valve which worked correctly, its operation for the wireless control of the irrigation system, which allows to control the furrow irrigation in an efficient way. The installation of the remotely operated smart valve allows to open and close the valve and also to regulate the water flow for a given irrigation schedule, using the EQUASURCO program, which is a model for furrow irrigation.
