Child's Garden of Verses

A Child's Garden of Verses was written in 1882 and published in 1885. It seems that A Child's Garden of Verses doesn't have a high position in the history of British literature. Some works on the history of British literature do not mention Stevenson's children's poems at all. However, Encyclopedia Britannica has a high evaluation of this collection of poems, &quote;His poetic works are often exquisite, sometimes fascinating and original, and sometimes become valuable due to showing a special memory and keen sense although they do not show the genius of poetic creation (such as the poems in A Child's Garden of Verses). A Child's Garden of Verses is simple in words but rich in artistic conception, clear in rhythm and harmonious in rhyme. It is necessary in almost every English-speaking country and known as a &quote;beautiful enlightenment textbook&quote; for children's language learning.
