Ablative Composite Materials

The work presented here is intended to investigate the effect of Carbon nanotubes and Nanoniamonds on the thermal and ablative properties of carbon fiber/epoxy based composites. Also herein an attempt has been made to verify the mechanism operative during material erosion. The modified composite materials showed high erosion resistance and thermal stability. These materials can be employed as thermal protection for rockets, space crafts and ballistic missiles.
