Power Potential for a Dam Site

Shortage of power and energylacks sufficient, reliable and affordable power supply for sustainable economic growth in a country. With the passage of time, the gap between demand and supply of power is widening. Therefore the development of hydropower projects to meet the energy requirements of local population is the best solution of energy problem. Flood estimation is a necessary input for the viable design of any hydraulic structure,so in the present study, flow, maximum probable flow and power potential for the proposed Kot Fateh Khan Dam site sorted out on the basis of past twenty four years data of gauging station. Results of the presented were presented in this technical book that is derived using GIS software ARC/INFO.
