Open Apex and its Management

During root development of the tooth, the tooth is subjected to variety of assaults. Due to this ,root portion of the tooth stops forming and closure of the apex of the tooth doesnot takes place. Root canal Treatment becomes a major challenge in such cases because of width of the canal of the tooth and wide open apices.Management of the open apices of tooth includes apexogenesis in young vital permanent tooth and apexification, which is a method to induce a calcific barrier in the root portion of the teeth.
