Godly Play

Godly Play ist ein Konzept spiritueller Bildung. Es lädt Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene dazu ein, Grundfragen ihres Lebens und Glaubens nachzugehen und eine Sprache für diese Auseinandersetzungen zu finden. Auf spielerische und kreative Weise verknüpft Godly Play Impulse aus der Montessori-Pädagogik mit biblischen Geschichten und christlichen Traditionen. Das Konzept wurde seit 1970 von Jerome Berryman (USA) entwickelt und wird seit ca. 2003 in Kirchgemeinden, Kindergärten, Schulen und anderen Bildungsorten im deutschsprachigen Raum eingesetzt und dabei stetig weiterentwickelt.
Der Praxisband "Osterfestkreis" enthält 21 Darbietungen, z.B.
- vom Anfang der Passionszeit bis Pfingsten
- zum Gottesdienst
- zu Paulus
Sorgfältig formulierte Anregungen zum Erzählen, Verwenden von Materialien und Eröffnen von Gesprächen wecken die Vorstellungskraft und laden nicht nur Kinder zum Erkunden ein. Das Buch enthält außerdem Kopiervorlagen für sog. "Elternbriefe" zu den meisten Darbietungen.
Weiterhin regt ein neuer, praxisorientierter Text zur Frage der Gottesbilder bei Godly Play zur Vertiefung an (über QRC/URL erreichbar).

[Godly Play. Playful Exploration of the Bible and Faith]
Godly Play is a concept for spiritual formation and religious education. It invites children, young people, and adults to explore fundamental questions about their lives and faith as well as to find a language for these discussions. In a playful and creative way, Godly Play combines impulses from Montessori education with biblical stories and Christian traditions.
The concept was developed by Jerome Berryman (USA) in 1970 and has been used in parishes, kindergartens, schools, and other educational institutions in German-speaking countries since around 2003 and is constantly being developed further.
The practical volume »Osterfestkreis« contains 21 performances, e. g.
- from the beginning of Passiontide to Pentecost
- the church service
- to St. Paul.
Carefully formulated suggestions for storytelling, using materials and opening up conversations awaken the imagination and invite not only children to explore. The book also contains copy templates for so-called »Elternbriefe« for most of the presentations.
Some details have again been revised for this 5th edition.
