Root Resorption in Orthodontics

Root resorption caused by orthodontic tooth movement is a unique and undesirable phenomenon that can occur at any level of clinical treatment. It can be affected by many factors such as the treatment mechanics used , factors related to the type and magnitude of the forces applied, and other factors related to treatment such as the types of tooth movement and premature contacts. The prognosis of orthodontic treatment is directly related to its detectability and effective removal of the clinical triggering factor. In this book, various orthodontic and biological factors that may cause root resorption and evaluation of root resorption using various imaging methods are discussed in detail.
