Centric Relation

Centric relation record is the most important step in the construction of complete dentures as it contributes towards success or failure of the prosthesis. There is no method by which vertical dimensional can be recorded accurately so only in acceptable vertical dimension is recorded during complete denture fabrication. Regarding impression making there are different concepts and procedures but during centric relation record there is total consensus on accuracy though the methods may differ. Even minor variation in recording centric relation may cause harmful and irreversible damage to stomatognathic system and therefore the accuracy of centric relation record must be rechecked at various treatment steps by try-in and insertion of complete dentures.
