How did Germany get into the Kosovo war? Failure to implement the air war once threatened against Miloević seemed inconceivable to the actors of the NATO member states in 1999. In his book, Hans-Peter Kriemann analyzes the interactions between the international political process for dealing with the Kosovo conflict, the logic of military thinking and the domestic political debate about when and for what purpose German participation in international operations. Using the example of the Kosovo conflict, he investigates the question of how such dynamics can contribute to the outbreak of conflicts and wars.
