Stones that Speak

This book explores the enigma of the Phaistos (Festos) Disc in light of recent translations and interpretation of the movements of individual characters on the disc as to whether they are to be interpreted from right to left or, conversely, from left to right.It also investigates archaeological excavations and archaic languages and myths, together with theories of archaic Cretan relationships from as far away as the Black Sea area. Also included are descriptions of the work of the pathfinders, the cryptologists, Kober, Ventris, Chadwick and Bennett that allowed us to comprehend extinct language of archaic societies.
