Geriatric Endodontics

Endodontic procedures in the elderly is assumed to be technically difficult because of the likelihood of the root canal system being 'sclerosed'. This book discusses the age-related changes in the elderly, their medical , physiological and psychological considerations. Emphasis is given to the special considerations required for successful endodontic therapy in elderly patients. Successful endodontics can be achieved in the elderly if meticulous attention is paid to good quality radiographs and techniques oriented towards overcoming the challenges posed by calcification of the root canal system.
