Friedman discusses a government system that is no longer controlled by &quote;we, the people.&quote; Instead of Lincoln's government &quote;of the people, by the people, and for the people,&quote; we now have a government &quote;of the people, by the bureaucrats, for the bureaucrats,&quote; including the elected representatives who have become bureaucrats.
