Benzoxazoles

Molecules containing the benzoxazole moiety, either isolated from plants or obtained by total synthesis, possess remarkable biological activities. Some of the examples being, gram-positive antibacterials, polycyclic antibiotics, antiparasitics, anti-inflammatories, elastase inhibitors and H2-antagonists, that contain benzoxazole moiety. Because of the varied pharmacological properties possessed by the benzoxazoles, they are considered to be important.
