Exam-led grammar syllabus - The grammar is explicitly presented and practised in the core lessons. The structure of the book ensures 100 per cent coverage of the content of the exam. The BEC exams deal with either business topics or business skills. It allows teachers to select the type of lesson (topic-based or skill-based) according to the needs of their learners. Each lesson is self contained. The Workbook features interesting and motivating input and activities. It consolidates and extends the grammar, vocabulary and business skills presented in the Student's Book.
It also provides further exam practice. The Teacher's Book includes reduced pages from the Student's Book for easy reference. It contains step-by-step teaching notes, answers, tapescripts and suggestions for further practice. It also offers a section of highly focused and fun photocopiable activities, ideal for pre-work or business students.

Author Information
John Hughes has taught for over 15 years and prepared students for BEC at all three levels. He has run Business English departments in Poland and Italy and organised teacher training courses including preparation for the LCCIEB Further Certificate for Teachers of Business English examination. He has written a number of course books for students and resource books for teachers as well as numerous articles for publications such as The Guardian Weekly. Currently, he is involved in the writing and development of online materials for training teachers.
