Antibiotic Prophylaxis in Caesarean Section

Post-caesarean wound infection causes significant morbidity in peurperium. Among the preventive strategies is provision of prophylactic antibiotics. However, these should be carefully selected keeping in mind their effect on the newborn and the possibility of drug-resistant pathogens. This dissertation evaluated two antimicrobial regimen in prevention of post-caesarean wound infection among pregnant women undergoing emergency caesarean section.
