Optimization Techniques in Operations Research

Operations Research is an important discipline dealing with the applications of advanced analytical methods to help make better decisions for the betterment of industrial output. It provides optimal or near-optimal solutions to complex decision-making problems after employing techniques from other mathematical sciences. A wide range of techniques and methods applied in the pursuit of improved decision-making problems are covered under the areas of Operations Research. Some of these areas include econometric methods, data envelopment analysis, neural networks, expert systems, decision analysis, and the analytic hierarchy process. Nearly all of these techniques involve the construction of mathematical models that attempt to describe the system completely. The present volume is a step in the direction of providing various optimization techniques dealing with the business oriented problems.
