Lasers in Prosthodontics

Numerous investigations on the possible uses of lasers in dentistry have been carried out since Maiman's creation of the ruby laser in 1960. Numerous applications have been created, including computer-aided design and quick prototyping technology as well as the research of full dentures' occlusion utilising a three-dimensional laser scanner. It may be used for a variety of things, including surface-treating base metal alloys, treating dentinal hypersensitivity, and fixing prosthodontics. These days, it even encompasses the specialties of maxillofacial prosthodontics and dental implantology. This article summarises and examines several research on the use of lasers in prosthodontics.
