Western Germany

This book, first published in 1955, examines the total economic, political and social breakdown that Germany suffered in the last year of the Second World War and in its immediate aftermath, and the beginnings of the recovery in the Western half of the now-divided nation. The process of a denazification is analysed, as are the policies of the occupying powers and the subsequent political stability and economic expansion.
