Detailed information

An important consideration for the U.S. is the potential of Caspian oil and gas to offset much of Europe's dependence on Russia for its energy needs. The premises underlying their interests, purposes, and priorities and that the terrorist attacks on 9/11 produced a fundamental transformation in US policy. The end of cold war did not eliminate all threats to US's foreign policy and national security, but it did force the US to reexamine its foreign policies, force levels, strategies and tactics, and budget requirements in the light of current and potential threats. The thesis uses a qualitative approach, drawing on scholarly books and articles, current affairs publications, energy firm websites, and other sources to compare the ethical aspects of the strategies used by the United States of America, to determine their strategy and Polices towards the Post-Soviet Caspian States.
