Smartphone and Desktop Applications Software Tests

Technology is moving towards new horizons and has affected almost all areas of life. Cell phones have been replaced by smart phones and emerging technology has come up with emerging issues. Testing in the smart phone area is still not mature especially in countries like Pakistan. In this study, the gap was analyzed between software testing techniques and tools, as those of smart phones and the problems faced by Pakistani testing engineers while testing a smart phone application or desktop application. The proposed methodology used in this study is based on a survey questionnaire. After reviewing literature and abstracting information from the survey, the best techniques and tools were identified and a framework was suggested for both desktop application and smart phone applications.
