Espresso's new updated edition has been enriched with the following sections: Cultural insight (for the development of intercultural abilities) and self assessment of one;s abilities and learning strategies. Activities focused on task-based language use. "Qualcosa in piú" section includes new tests and activities.

Espresso is a three–level Italian Language course based on a modern and innovative methodology that results in students being able to quickly communicate with ease and confidence in real situations. Particular attention is given to communication skills, stimulated through the use of exciting, involving and highly motivating activities centered on a variety of real situations for class interaction. Espresso is also rich in information on Italian life and culture.

• The student books contain 10 didactic units, 10 chapters of exercises, and 4 units of educational games for revision.
• The workbook consolidates structures and vocabulary from the student book and allows students to assess the progress made. The exercises are designed for individual work and the answer key provided in the appendix gives students the opportunity to check their answers.
• The activity and game book offers the teacher new ideas for lesson plans and allows students to put into practice the structures learned in Espresso 1 and 2 while avoiding repetition. The order of the activities follows the grammatical and syntactic progression of the lessons in the course book, but the book can also be used as supplementary material for revision courses. The book contains a wide range of activities including competitive games (card games, board games, dominoes, bingo, puzzles, crosswords etc) and more communicative activities with oral and written production and role–playing.
• The audio CD’s contain authentic excerpts of spoken language and exercises on intonation and pronunciation.
• The teacher’s guides contain explanation on methodology, indications for lesson development, and test material.
