In May 1996, a donkey stumbled into an opening in the sand in the Egyptian desert, revealing a vast multi-chambered tomb containing more than 10,000 mummies. The excavation, in what became known as the "Valley of the Golden Mummies", made front-page news across the world. With 250 full-colour photos of the remarkable treasures, this book documents the extraordinary finds at the site.
