Strategies for College Readers teaches core reading and study skills through a unique strategies-based approach that complements each skill with a specific strategy and bolsters skill fluency.

The theme of the text is based on the idea that students who apply strategies as they read are better able to develop as college readers. To that end, thirteen classroom-tested strategies comprise the text. The author centers each skill lesson on an easy-to-use, easy-to-remember strategy that fosters learning and improves students' understanding of and confidence with reading and study skills.
